Kids Love to Sew 101
Ages 7 and Up
Gain basic sewing skills from
selecting a pattern, cutting and piecing to create an awesome project. This course is 4 weeks long and participants are encouraged to bring a portable sewing machine if you have one.
Cost: $45 residents/$55 non-residents
Class meets Wednesdays November 7, 14, December 5 and 12. Time: 6:00-7:30pm at Municipal Building.

City Wide Gingerbread Contest
Learn the skills to twirl baton and enjoy the
fun of twirling with the Islanderettes.
Classes offered on either Tuesdays
or Thursdays at
Poquoson Elementary School.
Ages 4 and Up
Times and day 4-7pm based on age
and skill level.
Registration is in 2 sessions
Session 1 begins September 18
Session 2 will run Mid January thru Recital in May/June
Each session has a minimum of 15 hours.
Cost: $25 registration fee & $100 for Session 1 (Fall)

All participants will need a baton, which will be
ordered at an additional cost, approx. $30.
The instructor will assist in ordering this item.
All baton students have the option to join the
Kid’s Gingerbread House Workshop
Students will decorate their own Gingerbread House made of Gingerbread! We will provide ALL of the candy and icing for construction! All houses are completely edible so you can make a perfect centerpiece for the
holidays! Please note any food allergies with registration. All Gingerbread Houses decorated are taken home.
Participants are asked to please tie back long hair & bring an apron. Cost $20 residents/$30 non-residents

Friday Night Lego & Pizza Party
Drop the kids off for a fun and STEM-U-lating
Friday evening to explore and build with LEGO® bricks. Parents, feel free to relax, go on a date, and enjoy some “me time”. Pizza will be provided for the kids. This is for children ages 5-12. Cost: $28 residents/ $38 non-residents. 2nd child $5 discount. Times: 6-9pm

Super Hero Comic Drawing Class
Now is the time to let your imagination take the lead! Do you like drawing comics and want to
create your own super heroes as well as classic characters from the comics and the animated heroes of film & TV. Create new cartoon
characters, draw action, draw expressions, draw moods, and put together a cartoon strip. Ages 8 and up Small materials list
provided at the time of registration to include pencils, sharpener, and drawing pad.

Holiday Cookie Shop
Learn the techniques to decorate your holiday cookies for gift giving. This cookie workshop will allow you to create stockings, candy canes, bells and other holiday cookie shapes that will be your canvas for creativity.
Learn techniques using buttercream icing with
holiday colors and festive embellishments.
